Ownership lifecycle

Hyndle names use renewable ownership rather than permanent registration.

Active -> Grace period -> Reclaimable

Active

The registration has not expired. The owner can transfer the ERC-721 token, update supported resolver records, and extend the expiration date.

Grace period

The registration has expired, but the 30-day grace period has not ended. The current owner may renew. Transfers are disabled after expiration to prevent the sale of an already-expired registration.

Reclaimable

The grace period has ended. A new user can create and pay for a reservation, receive approval, and reclaim the same deterministic token ID. Reclaim burns and remints the token to the new owner.

Live chain state

Lifecycle state is derived from the registry's expiration timestamp and current block time. Product interfaces must not rely only on a cached database label when deciding whether a minted name can be reclaimed.
